While diving in the St. Clair River between Detroit, USA and Windsor, Canada I noticed large blobs of some jelly like substance. It's time to take waterway cleanup, garbage disposal and industrial waste a lot more seriously.
It's a fun song about a very serious problem

Oh, it’s eating everything, what is it?
I don’t know brother, it came from the river

There’s a blob in the bottom of the river
They thought they were being clever
But it slipped into our water
To get your sons and daughters
Well, first they tried to clean it up
But it keeps on oozing from the muck
They tried bacteria to destroy it
But the blob just ate Detroit
That didn’t matter much
Cleaned up all that smog and dust
Then it drank the Ohio River
You know that didn’t matter either
It slipped over to Chicago
Then came back and downed Toledo
What to do with this mutation
Before it gobbles up the nation

“Attention, this is a news flash
The blob is growing larger
It seems to be consuming all industrial
Areas of the country.
Run for your lives!!!”

Now maybe the blobs not so bad
Ohio’s gone, no one’s sad
Pittsburgh wasn’t really missed
And much the same for St. Louis
They thought that something should be done
When it hit the burbs of Washington
Ronnie Reagan made a speech
Didn’t save the city though, oh no!

While the States was going mad
Another blob ate Stalingrad
It took the London underground
And then Bejing could not be found
I wonder where the world is gone
The multinationals were wrong
They sucked us dry and took our health
Just to build up their own wealth

Excuse me, waiter,
I wonder if I could have a glass of…
Eeeeeuch!!!!

There’s a blob in the river
